After creating and revising their drawings with the help of the APW team of instructors and TA’s, APW students just recently submitted their final portfolios to animation programs at top schools such as Seneca and Sheridan. The 2011 results are coming in and it looks like there are a good number of APW students who will study animation at Sheridan and at Seneca next September! Congratulations from the APW team!
APW instructors recognize the dedication and hard work that our students have put into learning how to draw, learning how to see and think differently and ultimately, putting together and submitting their final animation portfolios. Congratulations on a job well done! In the words of former APW student Nick Motrich (presently studying animation at Sheridan):
“for those who applied and didn’t get admission offers, do not lose heart – digest your grade and improve your work according to your scores”.
Wise words. For those who have had portfolio success this time around, congratulations!

It was a hard road but I got accepted into both Seneca and Sheridan for animation. I’m planning on going to Sheridan and I could not have done it without the entire APW family. They have taught me so much and I will use these skills to help me grow in the program. Thanks so much guys!

Got into Sheridan! I owe it to you magic monkey teachers and your wizardly teaching; not to mention the amazing TAs! You guys were a major backbone to this milestone and i hope to spend the next few yrs proving i deserved this spot thanks to APW’s help. My heart goes out to you guys for making it possible and easier for people struggling with portfolios and finding a life in the world of animation/illu/ etc. Keep it up! I’m excited to say that I have also received an offer of admission from sheridan! I would like to thank you all for your invested effort and dedication to teaching. I really feel like APW gave me a solid direction with my portfolio and ultimately helped me bring my portfolio to the level that it is. The amount I have learned in just a few months with APW is mind blowing compared to any other instruction I have ever received for drawing (that includes Sheridan’s Art Fundamental program)
The bad thing about this is coming to the realization that the workshop is over!
I am truly privileged to have had the opportunity to learn and work with such a phenomenal group of people.

First, I have to say THANKS to every APW teacher, your patient guidance helped me to get a Sheridan offer (of admission to the Animation Program). I want to tell everyone that taking the class in APW was my best choice during this last year. I can’t imagine what if I miss this class, I might fail to get the offer.
I love every excellent teacher and assiduous classmate. Thankx APW! You taught me lots of important things, which ain’t only drawing skill, you’ll never know how much I have gained from this class. Right now I miss teachers and classmates so much, I wanna go back to those days when I took APW classes on each Saturday, busy but happy. Excuse my poor English, I know it is dull and fails to express my strong feeling, the thing I suggest It’s better to watch everyone’s portfolio that enough to tell you the truth:)

I am so happy to inform everyone that I have gotten the offer from Sheridan College animation program. What I have to say is that the study experience in APW is very helpful for me. From beginning to now, I can clearly see my progress. Here I really want to thank every teacher again. You guys are so responsible and patient. We can always get good suggestions for us to help improving our drawing skill. Now I already go back to China to wait term begins in September,and I want to say that I miss you guys!!!!!

I have to say that it was an incredible group to teach; such talent, dedication and friendliness; I really will miss teaching the lot of you and I truly believe that a steep hill lies ahead; but we gave you enough tools to start climbing.
Krystal, Maria, Katie, Jordan and Nozomi, congratulation on your acceptance to your school of choice. I hope to hear from you in the near future.
And for those who didn’t make it this time; don’t forget that you are more than half way there; work on your weaknesses and nurture your strengths.

The APW family has the most capable and responsible instructors and they helped me a lot. I not only learned about the skills but also those creative ideas of making cartoony stuff. Before I was more interested in illustration program, but after the long term training I found it was more fun to play with cartoon characters and create storyboard.
Finally, I got offers from both animation and illustration programs in Sheridan College, I am so happy with that, I think I can not get those offers without APW family’s help, thanks again. Wish everyone have good luck with their further study.
