All of the 2010 animation entrance portfolios were submitted to top animation schools on the first week of March. The responses from Seneca Animation Arts Centre and Sheridan Animation are starting to come in and the early results are showing some success for a number of Animation Portfolio Workshop students. The APW team of instructors and TA’s offer congratulations to all of our 2010 students and a special recognition of the hard work and effort shown by those who have been accepted into top animation (and Iluustration) programs. Congratulations for a job well done! Follow us on Twitter and stay tuned as there will be more news and more results to report as our students hear the responses from animation schools like Sheridan and Seneca.

Hey! I just wanted to let you all know that I got accepted into the animation program at Sheridan! I couldn’t have gotten in if it weren’t for this workshop and I just thank everyone who helped me get there
I applied to Sheridan and Seneca 2 consecutive years before taking the workshop and getting into Seneca animation this year. The workshop really helped me find out where I was going wrong and how to correct those mistakes. I really grew as an artist at the workshop and also learned how to continually grow.
The staff at the workshop are amazing and have a passion for what they do. The one on one feedback and lessons they gave were very helpful as well invaluable.
Thanks so much to all the staff and students for helping me find my way towards my life goal of becoming the artist I aim to be.
so I started my grade 12 year in high-school wanting to become an engineer, (very unsure, of what I wanted to do). Soon i realized that more than anything I wanted to become an animator. So I said how hard could it be, I soon found out the difficulty of getting into an animation school, and that it required a lot of of drawing talent. I really didn’t know what to do. I mean not only did I not know how to draw but i didn’t know how to put together a portfolio. So I discovered the workshop through the power of google. Sure enough I made the right decision in joining the workshop. Right from the first class it was easy for me to grasp the concept of life drawing and object drawing, thanks to the wonderful staff. the environment was also amazing to work in. When I got to class I was eager to learn more and more. as the weeks progressed I was actually stunned at the progress I made. Then is was time to start putting together the portfolio with the skills I learnt. once again the staff were amazing at helping me and other students with the portfolio preparations. then came time to hand them in.
I applied to both Sheridan and Seneca. I got accepted to Seneca. I couldn’t be more grateful to the workshop for helping me achieve my goal. I will never forget the experience I had with the workshop.
