These courses are opportunities to go more deeply into specific animation-friendly areas of study. Paint the figure, cultivate a working understanding of movement of the human machine, learn about composition and design, delve into storyboarding. One never stops learning (or, as a wise man said "learning how to learn"). All classes take place at St. Matthew's United Church 789 St. Clair Ave. W Painting the Figure 8 weeks Tuesdays (March 31, April 7, 14, 21, 28, May 5, 12, 26) 6pm - 9pm Students learn how to use acrylic paint, mix colours and try various paint application techniques to create paintings of the nude and costumed model. Poses vary in duration from 15 minutes to 6 hours. Previous drawing experience helpful but not required. Cost - $375 plus materials Instructor - Bernadette Peets Anatomy for Animation 10 weeks Tuesdays (June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, July 7, 14, 21, 28, August 4) 6pm - 9pm In this 10 week course students draw the skeleton and live model while learning the skeletal and muscle systems with an eye to applying this knowledge to design and animation. Previous drawing experience required. (Maximum of 10 students) Cost - $500 plus materials Instructor - Chris Cherkas Advanced Composition 10 weeks Wednesdays (June 3, 10, 17, 24, July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, Aug. 5 ) 6pm - 9pm Students explore the concrete and abstract elements of composition. Masterpieces from the Renaissance, Baroque, Neo-Classicism, Romanticism, Modernism and contemporary art as well as selected animation artwork are studied via gesture, straight/curve and black/white design studies.
